Our Story


Floyd Design & Build Ltd. is a family-run business that prides itself on tailoring our projects to our customers needs, budgets, & timescales. 


The Founding Director of Floyd Design & Build Ltd., Brian, is a resourceful, dynamic, and growth-focused leader. Brian brings success by guiding diverse teams in the design, redesign, and launch of leading-edge business solutions. With a background in the aquaculture industry, he is consistent in enhancing business and team performance, enterprise growth, and producing strong financial results. Brian excelled at directing all stages of the production lifecycle, managing large-scale personnel and teams, and managing multi-million-pound budgets.

 

It is important to Brian during the time leading up to and following retirement to ensure that his family has security and stability. Brian had a vision to establish a family-run business and decided this is where he would focus his many years of skills & managerial experience.


Our project manager, Robert, went through years of education in the aircraft engineering field but has turned it into a hobby. From building computers to kayaks to classic Mini Coopers, Robert has always found himself tied to construction and design projects. Robert started his professional career in joinery with Rodger Mitchell. After time in training with Rodger, both parties set up their own business, 2 Planks Limited. In 2018, Robert then sold his shares and went on a solo adventure in the trade. Robert has also worked with Adam Design & Build. While working with Adam, Robert has built a wealth of knowledge and skills in building extensions and conversions. These experiences within the industry have fully equipped Robert with the experience, skills, and qualities to excel in the trade.



Brian spoke to Robert about his ideas, and after 5 years of Robert running his own successful company, it was a perfect opportunity for Robert & Brian to merge together. And that was the start of Floyd Design & Build Ltd. being created!


Floyd Design & Build Ltd. was officially set up in 2023 & is continuing to progress in the direction we hoped for. 2024 has seen the expansion into involving other members of the family.


2024 is set to be another successful year for the business, with Floyd Design & Build Ltd. working with and satisfying new and existing customers!

Our goals  

Having been involved with many small to medium sized building projects over the last 10 years or so, Robert and his dad Brian have teamed up to create a new company that takes a more forward looking approach to building. Not only do we want our standards of work to be the best, we also want our customer experience to be the best. Our plan is simple - we aim to be our customers sole point of contact from ideation through to completion. Are you thinking about maybe adding a small extension?
